Dev Blog 12: First Physical Meeting

January 5, 2016

We’re kicking off 2016 with the development team’s first ever physical meeting. As we’ve previously been developing the game form different parts of the world we are now back living in the same area which means that things will be a lot easier to go about and design, create and implement.

Building a Terminal

One of the big headaches of Airport CEO, from our perspective, has concerned the way the players would go about building the terminals. The name of the game is Airport CEO, not “Airport Construction” or some other gaming title that would bring your thoughts to a more building centered game experience. However, when we asked the community on input concerning queue construction you wanted to be as free as possible with as little pre-definitions as possible. While our aim always will be to create a gaming experience that centers around the management of the airport, that is being a CEO, we want to enable the player to create and build an airport that feels as if its their own creation and not someone else’s.

We’ve defined a set of design rules that will enable players to build versatile airport terminals, tarmac environments and infrastructure to connect them allowing for a vivid, deeply simulated and alive airport. Hopefully, we’ll be able to showcase something of this soon.

Teaser Video

Another topic we covered was the teaser video that is currently in making and will be revealed “early 2016”. We’re working hard to finish and polish the parts that will be included and, when it’s time, we will give you more details into its release date. In the meantime we’ll supply you, below, with a small screen of an airport bus shuttle waiting for passengers to board late at night.

See you soon!
