Dev Blog 5: Progress

October 11, 2015

This week…

… has been quite productive. We’ve established a studio to act as a public figure for this game which we think is important in order to become credible as backing option when the crowdfunding campaign is due. It also lets us manage this game as a product from a better perspective, creating an identity and being able to connect with you, the players, when we need information, suggestions and feedback. Check out the studio website here!

Coding

While we’ve made a few good steps forward it mainly consists of optimization and bug resolving. The life cycle is complete but has potential to be optimized and while we’re excited to carry on as much as possible we want to create sustainable code that doesn’t screw us over later in the development process. Looking forward we’re gonna solidify our saving and loading system and then continue expanding the details of the passenger and aircraft simulations as well as the management perspective. Our aim is to create an extremely detailed experience where attention to detail is highly prioritized. A passenger might be late to his trip and will have to rush through the checkpoints where the skill of your employees will be crucial to the passengers flight. Another passenger might have an issue with its boarding card, passport or similar whilst its bags got lost in the connecting flight, a real customer support hassle for your employee. What if an aircraft breaks down on the runway? Do you have any emergency units available to handle such a situation and what happens if the skill of your employees in the control tower are too low causing two aircrafts to collide? This is the kind of details we’re gonna focus and make sure that you as a CEO will have an impact on the mechanics of the game.

If you have any suggestions already at this stage, please, don’t hesitate to drop them in a comment below on this post!

Creating a Buzz

Today we’ve begun implementing our marketing strategy which starts off with making you guys aware of our game, hopefully you’re reading this post because we’ve identified your platform as important to us. Here and there, on a select set of sites where we know that you, the gamers who might be really interested in what we are doing and want to help our, hangs out. As we’ve said before, we would really like to involve the community in this process. All of us on the team are long time fanatics of tycoon and management games and we know how important it is that the development team are aware of the community’s voice and that we should allow you to lead us. That will always be true to us.

Oh yeah, by the way, we know that we haven’t provided enough screen shots yet. That’ll come, at the moment our textures are really placeholder but we’re working on creating more and more parts that we can present to you. Stay tuned!
